Texture can be explained in many ways, but I wanted to create something that identified textures and emphasized the differences between real vs implied texture in art. This is a short lesson, because it has a lot more vocabulary than I usually choose to teach my art students. I really wanted to focus the lesson on why texture is important and how it relates to nature. This Powerpoint does just that, in my opinion. My notes are included, along with a suggested Kagan structure and discussion points. The images are inspiring and amazing for elementary school students. And the artwork referenced is fun and easy for the kids to identify. This slideshow would be great for the visual arts teacher or a classroom teacher integrating the arts.
Please take a look at the preview. I know you will love it!
In my notes I reference two instructional activities that I will be posting shortly, keep an eye out for those products. They would really add nice portfolio pieces for product based assessments.
I am constantly working to improve my lesson plans, PowerPoints, visuals, etc. If and when I improve this or any other item I have for sale on TPT, I will always offer the updated version to the purchasers of the original at no cost.
If you ever have a concern about any of my lessons feel free to email me. I'm happy to receive any feedback. ElemArts14@yahoo.com
