Product Description
This is an adaptable unit that is based on students' understanding of three foundational literary concepts: conflict, setting and character. My individual lesson plans and unit assessment use texts from common ninth grade anthologies--"The Most Dangerous Game," "Marigolds," and "Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?"; however, any text can be used. All you'll need to do is tweak the handouts. I include structed lesson plans with objectives, in addition to handouts (formative assessments) and a summative assessment that tests the students' understanding of these concepts.
