This is a fun reading and writing lesson that uses movement to engage both sides of the brain, and helps students learn about the elements of fiction and builds classroom community. Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Writers and Readers will benefit. 45-60 minute time frame. Students will work with a group to retell a story using the Elements of Fiction printables provided, and then share their music and movement retell with the class. Several printables with original art included! This is a great lesson plan for a substitute teacher, or for a seasoned teacher who would like to integrate more movement into their academic lessons.
