With this worksheet/information handout, you could use it in a multitude of ways with your students.
First, you could have students cut and glue this sheet into their interactive notebooks. The bottom could be an area that you model and they fill in with you.
Another way to use this resource would be to cut it in half. The top part could be put into their notebooks for reference and the bottom could be done about a story the student is reading or a story that the teacher assigns.
Lastly, this could be done in partner groups about a particular story.
The way I used it in my room was to have them glue the entire thing in as a resource. We read through the five elements of plot together and underlined and highlighted important parts of each meaning. Then together we made a flow chart about a Storyline Online story. Once we completed this, we looked for the most important parts of each element and added it to the mini flow chart in our on our sheets.
