This is a hands-on activity for students in grades 4th through 8th when reviewing, introducing, or remediating the elements of a narrative. This activity includes five, ready-to-go plot outlines, instructions, and terms with definitions. Laminate the cards for longer use. Create an activity set for a group of students by including an activity instructions card, a blue plot outline card, and a copy of the terms and definitions cut up and scrambled. Have students work independently, in pairs, or groups depending on their needs. Instructions for the activity are as follows: In a story, there are specific parts that make up the plot line. Use the graphic organizer and the plot pieces to correctly construct a plot line. Then match up the correct term with the matching definition.
