Use elves to show inheritance patterns. This activity uses complete dominance, codominance, incomplete dominance, sex-linked traits, polygenic traits, and multiple alleles. Students go to stations and determine the type of inheritance pattern, the offspring probabilities, and then pick one chromosome from each parent to make their own elf baby.
A great review of all the inheritance patterns and a great way to show how and why siblings are sometimes more similar than other times.
Could be used as a way to reinforce the inheritance patterns or as a fun way to assess the students.
