I have found the QUOTE HUNT method to be powerful with many types of learners and useful for all types of readings. For Night's chapter four, there are approximately 25 "clues" provided to the students so that they can identify significant and important aspects of this memoir from the opening pages. Students are asked to identify and find passage(s) that connect to each provided “clue”. They are prompted to record one or more quote(s) that they feel best matches the context clues along with page numbers. This task is on a word document so you can make necessary adjustments--add or subtract what is best for your class! I have been using the Quote Hunt method for years and hope you find it a valuable classroom resource.
