This guide walks students through how to identify a writer's style. Students are asked to read ch.2, then closely examine components of style such as: syntax, diction, tone, and literary elements. Not only do they have to locate these elements, they have to discuss the effect that they have on the story as a whole. At the end, students review their findings to uncover a metaphorical/symbolic journey created by Wiesel.
