This easy activity challenges students to research aspects of everyday life from the Elizabethan era. Students choose topics such as what clothing was worn, what foods were eaten, what housing was like, etc. and create a presentation with their findings to share with the class.
I typically use this before reading Shakespeare, but it could also be used as part of a history lesson. It's a nice (and simple) way to introduce a unit relating to this era. Included are directions for the assignment, a list of research topics, a rubric, and an audience participation sheet to encourage students to listen while others are presenting.
