This 8 page, scantron ready, 100 question test has 3 parts. Part 1 (20 q) covers sonnet structure with identification/matching to Italian and English sonnets. In Part 2 (50 q) students read 10 famous sonnets of Edmund Spenser (#26, 67, 75 & 79), Sir Philip Sidney (#31 & 39), and William Shakespeare (#18, 29, 55 & 73) and answer 5 questions on each of the poems. The 5 questions are given directly after each poem. Part 3 (30 q) is on vocab from the poems; students match words quoted in the lines from the poems to their definitions The 8 page KEY is included. This is a long test; I suggest the poems on the test (or most of them, at least) are the ones you go over in class as part of your sonnet unit.
