"Stamp It Write it!" is a phonological awareness strategy for building your students segmenting skills and their inventive spelling skills as well. Continued practice segmenting with Elkonin boxes will lead to higher scores on Phoneme Segmentation Fluency for those of you who teach in district that use DIBELS.
Step One: Teacher calls out a word
Step Two: Students sound out the word and place a stamp in each elkonin box to represent each sound in the word.
Step Three: Students write the letter that corresponds to each sound they stamped.
