This is an activity handout that your students can complete while they watch a video on YouTube. The clip highlights in particular the experiences of Elsie MacGill and Louise Christoffersen and life for women on the home front. It also goes into the impact that the Hawker Hurricane had in the Battle of Britain.
The link to the video is included on the worksheet. Students can watch independently and complete the worksheet or it can be used for whole class viewing.
This was created for a grade 10 Canadian History class (CHC2D) using the Ontario Curriculum, but it is appropriate for any grades 7-10 class that is learning about the role of women in the Second World War.
