Embracing Diversity Lessons FREE!

The “Embracing Diversity” unit's goal is that each student understand that individual identity is shaped by many factors, including: individual characteristics; who the world says I am; empathy or lack of empathy for others; dominant and subordinate social groups; implicit bias; and the power and privilege, or lack of both, that go with these groups.

Identity is complex!

The lessons focus on Beverly Daniel Tatum’s impacting article, “The Complexity of Identity: “Who Am I?”

This article includes some tough, but important topics and will hopefully promote powerful introspection, discussions, and reflection!

These lessons create the perfect introduction to my "1 Week Celebrating My Identity Unit!"

This resource meets State, National and Common Core Standards.

This unit was taken from my “High School Health Curriculum,” the #1 best-selling Health curriculum on the whole TeachersPayTeachers website!
