Suddenly, you or your teammate gets sick and you have to be out for a few days. You feel bad asking someone to write your plans, but you don't feel well enough to concentrate on writing them yourself. This is exactly what this packet is for! This is an Emergency Sub Packet that contains COMPLETE daily plans for 3 days. It covers plans for Morning Meeting, Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, Snack, Brain Breaks, Related Arts, Lunch, Recess and Dismissal. You don't have to type ANYTHING out! Each subject is DIFFERENTIATED for all learners. It's not just worksheets! The plans are game based, and ENGAGING! It's very low prep. If you print out the packet, you can place it directly in a binder and your substitute is ready to go! All you will need to do is make enough copies for your class, and add the times on each planning page. You can buy this and prepare it in advance incase of emergency.
Tell me about the reading plans!
Throughout the 3 days of reading plans, your sub will be going through the Miss Nelson is Missing series (Miss Nelson is Missing, Miss Nelson is Back, and Miss Nelson Has a Field Day). I planned these books because they are great for a sub to read, and the series is so engaging! The reading plans focus more on comprehension skills, and provide an activity each day for students to show they understood the story.
Here's a snapshot of each day of reading:
-Reading Plans (Days 1-3)
- Questions to Ask While Reading (Days 1-3)
- Differentiated Reading Responses:
-Characters Change (3 different response layouts for all learners)
-Comparing Characters (3 different response layouts for all learners)
-Who is Miss Swamp? (3 different response layouts for all learners)
Tell me about the writing plans!
Each day, students will be writing in response to the stories they have read. The plans encourage the sub to help students brainstorm before writing, and they are really specific on how to help students write. Each writing prompt is differentiated. I've included a page of labeling, one with handwriting lines, and one that is lined. You can use these at ANY point in the year for ANY writer!
