This half day of lesson plans is broken down into 3 separate segments (30-60 minutes each) addressing several ELA standards using an informational text, “Apples”. Your students will enjoy a read aloud, practice informational text features (bold words & headings), create a diagram and label it, and use adjectives to describe apples.
Segment 1: Students will use informational text features to understand the meaning of new words and define the role of an informational writer.
Segment 2: Students will draw and label the parts of an apple.
Segment 3: Students will describe apples using various adjectives.
These lessons can be taught over the span of a half day or you can use the lessons independently, broken up over several days.
