Have you already used our original Emergency Sub Plans? Do you need another stand-alone 55 minute activity you can just print and leave for a substitute? No problem! We’ve got you covered here with this fun and exciting “Mad Libs Scene” activity in which students will fill in Mad Libs scenes and then create short scenes based on those Mad Libs! Will they be a little crazy and wacky? Sure! But that’s all part of the fun!
This activity is set up as an instructional letter to your substitute as well as a two handouts you will need to copy and minimally set up beforehand so all you need to do is give it to your substitute and sit back knowing your students will have a fun and engaging activity for the entire period!
Everything is provided for you in here. There are 5 different Mad Libs scenes to choose from. Have your entire class do just one scene or mix it up with different ones in each class! Clear instructions are given to the substitute on how to run the game, how to put students into groups, how to monitor students during rehearsal, and how to grade their performances. Informal grading rubrics are provided for the substitute to keep your students accountable to you, even when you are not present!
I work primarily out of Google Docs and .pdf files, but I have also provided Microsoft files as well.
In this bundle you will find:
*This Read Me .pdf (1 page)
*A .pdf, Google doc, and Word document of the Substitute Instructions.
*A .pdf, Google Slide, and PowerPoint of the Word Chart
*A .pdf, Google Slide, and PowerPoint of the Coordinating Scene Script
For you, the busy drama teacher, all you have to do is print and teach! Everything is now prepped for you! Sit back and relax. . . . .we’ve got you covered!
