Nobody likes being absent and sometimes emergencies occur. This pack of three easy to implement activities have students working on their close reading skills. All you need to do is add a reading (i.e. magazine article, textbook, etc.). and you have at least one period worth of work for each activity.
Included you will find:
Bloom’s Taxonomy Nonfiction Questions: Students are given eight questions or activities for each level of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Have students choose their activities as they progress through the levels. This works with nonfiction readings.
Literacy Menu: Students are given five questions or activities to be used with a nonfiction article. The questions require more critical thinking and skills as they move from appetizers through dessert.
Main Idea Choice Board: Students are given a choice board where all the activities help develop main idea identification skills. This is to be used with a nonfiction reading.
