Suddenly get sick? Have a family emergency? Not sure what exactly to do with your drama students for the day you’re going to be gone? We’ve got you covered! In this 55 minute stand-alone activity, students will come up with short original scenes with a surprise twist! Students must incorporate 2 random objects and one random line of dialogue somehow into their scene. How will they make sense of it all? Well, that’s all part of the fun!
This activity is set up as an instructional letter to your substitute so all you need to do is give it to your substitute and sit back knowing your students will have a fun and engaging activity for the entire period.
All suggestions (random objects and lines of dialogue) are provided in this packet for the substitute. Clear instructions are given to the substitute on how to run the game, how to put students into groups, how to monitor students during rehearsal, and how to grade their performances. Informal grading rubrics are provided for the substitute to keep your students accountable to you, even when you are not present!
I work primarily out of Google Docs and .pdf files.
In this bundle you will find:
A Read Me .pdf (1 page)
A .pdf and Google doc of the Substitute Instructions (7 pages)
For you, the busy drama teacher, all you have to do is print and teach! Everything is now prepped for you! Sit back and relax. . . . .we’ve got you covered!
