This is an emergent reader book, by Sara Ipatenco, that encourages children to recognize simple sight words such as “is,” “of,” “the” and “it.” It also uses repeated text and encourages children to use the pictures to figure out unknown words. Each page shows one type of vegetable with a fact about one nutrient it contains and why that nutrient is important. This book is great for learning quick nutrition facts while also practicing reading skills! I’ve included a black and white version that students can color themselves and a color version that you can print, laminate and use as a classroom book! Enjoy!!
