This is an emergent reader book, by Sara Ipatenco, that encourages children to recognize simple sight words “is,” “what,” “it” and “not.” The 10-page book uses very simple text describing asking students what color candy corn is. This book is a great way to practice color word identification! It also uses repeated text and encourages children to use the pictures to figure out unknown words. It's also a great way to practice phonics skills. Simply cut the pages apart and staple them together. I’ve included a black and white version that students can color themselves and a color version that you can print, laminate and use as a classroom book! Enjoy and Happy Halloween!!
