This is an emergent reader book that encourages children to recognize simple sight words such as “your,” “he,” “use,” “to” and “put.” The 10-page book describes the steps necessary to build a snowman, such as rolling a ball for the bottom, middle and head and adding rocks for eyes and a carrot for a nose. The story ends with a completed snowman. It also uses repeated text and encourages children to use the pictures to figure out unknown words. The simple text also builds phonics skills. Simply cut the pages apart and staple them together. I’ve included a black and white version that students can color themselves and a color version that you can print, laminate and use as a classroom book! Enjoy!!
This book is available as part of a bundle of winter emergent readers.
