This is an emergent reader book by Sara Ipatenco. It encourages children to recognize the simple sight words “on,” “a,” “I” and “see.” The 10-page book describes the different things one would see on a winter walk, such as a polar bear, a penguin, children sledding and a snowman. It also uses repeated text and encourages children to use the pictures to figure out unknown words. The simple text encourages phonics skills, too. Simply cut the pages apart and staple them together. I’ve included a black and white version that students can color themselves and a color version that you can print, laminate and use as a classroom book! Enjoy!!
This book is also part of a winter emergent reader bundle:
