This is an emergent reader book, by Sara Ipatenco, that encourages children to recognize simple sight words such as “and,” “the,” “about” and “a.” The 10-page book describes what each bookworm reads about the library. The also uses repeated text and encourages children to use the pictures to figure out unknown words. Its a great way to practice phonics skills too. Simply cut the pages apart and staple them together. I’ve included a black and white version that students can color themselves and a color version that you can print, laminate and use as a classroom book! Enjoy!!
