This is an emergent reader book by Sara Ipatenco. It encourages children to recognize the simple sight words such as “we,” “did,” “not” and “found.” The 10-page book is about two children who set a leprechaun trap, but don't catch a leprechaun. Each page describes what the leprechaun left behind near the trap. The book lists days of the week, so it's a good way to reinforce reading each day of the week. It uses repeated text and encourages children to use the pictures to figure out unknown words. The simple text encourages phonics skills, too. Simply cut the pages apart and staple them together. I’ve included a black and white version that students can color themselves and a color version that you can print, laminate and use as a classroom book! Enjoy!!
