5 day lesson play for an emergent guided reading group:
Day 1: word work and text preview
Day 2: guided reading (with space to note observations) and text review questions
Day 3: planning and pre-writing
Day 4: guided writing and reflection
Day 5: reinforcement and assessment
Also included: sight word assessment form, running record form and comprehension questions to record data
Lesson plans are fully written out. You can absolutely (and please do) adjust for your group of students and the level of support they need. I included specific things that I am working on with my emergent reading group, as well as some other ideas you can incorporate.
Timeline: Each day varies in length of the time needed for each lesson. You can add or adjust times as necessary. I meet with this group 5 days a week.
Day 1: 5 - 10 minutes
Day 2: 10 - 15 minutes
Day 3: 5 - 10 minutes
Day 4: 10 - 15 minutes
Day 5: 5 - 10 minutes
Standards: The standards I focused on were first grade standards as this book is a first grade level text. I am using it with my emergent second grade readers.
