This is a fun emergent reader for young students to practice reading simple sight words and words from picture cues (meaning). It is a perfect compliment to units on winter, hibernation, and bears. This book is student made and your kiddos will need to make part of each page. Students will write in the name of each animal as well as draw a picture of the animal hibernating on each page. The pages are not numbered so that you can use all or only the ones you want. There are two versions one for the students to draw the animal and one for students to color. I have also included a full color version for you to use as a guided reading book as well. This book has a cute ending with a fish - will NOT hibernate in winter. It also has a blank page for your students to make any non hibernating animal at the end.
Animals included in this book are: bear, frog, turtle, groundhog, bat, snail, fish (not hibernating animal)
Sight words included are: here, is, a, it, will, in, the
This book is designed for EASY PREP! To assemble the books, just print, copy pages, cut in half, and staple the books together on the left hand side. These books are half pages and are formatted for quick and easy assembly. You will only need to make copies for half the number of students in your class...if you have 20 students, you will make 10 copies and have 20 little books after assembly.
Please take a look at the preview file to see all the pages in this reading book. I hope this is a helpful resource for your classroom!
