This is a fun emergent reader for young students to practice reading color words and simple sight words. This is a black and white printable, so students will need to color the leaves on each page to match the color word. I have students highlight the color word on each page as well. (My students absolutely LOVE using highlighters!) The pages are not numbered so that you can use all or only the ones you want. To assemble the books, just print, copy pages, cut in half, order the pages, and staple the books together on the left hand side.
Color words used: red, orange, yellow, brown, green, purple, blue, pink, white, black
Sight words used: I, see, the, can, you
This makes a great independent center activity or morning work for your kids. It will be a favorite familiar reading book with your kiddos because students love reading the books they make. I hope this is a helpful little resource for your classroom this fall!
