This is an overview of the guided reading protocol for guided reading instruction with an emergent reader level A-D. It gives you a quick glance at the skills and activities taught within a weekly guided reading lesson. Each student has a section where the teacher can add notes or check off skills they have observed during their instruction. You can use different color pens with different books and activities or days so progression is easily monitored as well. Each student's notes can be cut apart and added to a data binder easily. I cut them apart at the end of each week and tape them to a notebook page that is in a data binder for each student. See my Anecdotal Assessment Notebook product for more information about data organization.
