Three Little Books With Activities!
This set of Little Books and activities are designed to help lower elementary students learn words. Research shows that the more fluently a child can read, the more he can comprehension. These books use basic sight words that students need to become familiar with.
1. My Little Books:
Print out each book and fold first hotdog style, then hamburger style! Teach students to do this carefully. Folding is a skill in iteself. Teacher models reading book. Students read and trace the words. Students can then read book to buddy.
Rainbow Write: Trace, Write, Cut and Paste! Students trace the words using one color of crayon three times. I would give them red, blue, green. First trace sentence with red while saying words. Then trace sentence with blue while saying words. Green can be last and this should be a more fluent read and tracing. Students will then carefully write sentence.
Cut along dotted line. Cut out letters, arrange letters correctly and paste in boxes to make sentence.
Flash Cards: Cards that go along with the story. Have students say words to buddy, take home to say with parents, and use whisper phones to independently read words.
I Can Write Pages: Three pages of writing designed for different levels of learning. All students can trace and write. Student who are writing more fluently can use their tracing sheet to write their own sentences. Students that are learning how to write can draw pictures and write the words that they have learned.
2. Books, activities, and flash cards are designed to help students learn frequently used words in a fun and engaging way. Easy to print and use in centers, for homework, remediation, intervention, and small groups.
