This interactive resource is meant as a practice resource for building phrases, sentences, & specific parts of speech with students who are nonverbal (using AAC) and/or minimally verbal, or who need practice with specific structures.
There are at least 18 cards for each activity; as many as 54 for some.
Where appropriate there is a choice; where both words and symbols are provided for students to use.
Precursor: label the shapes and objects
Level 1: label; article+label (a circle, the circle)
Level 2: label with “to be” verb; to be+article+label (is a circle)
Level 3: plural label; 1 word+s/es/ies (circles)
Level 4: plural label with “to be” verb; 2 words (are circles)
Level 5: add pronoun (it is a circle, they are circles)
Level 6: add adjectives (first color, then size)
Level 7: add pronoun-verb phrase (I see a circle, I have a circle)
Level 8: expand pronoun-verb phrases with plurals (He has circles)
Level 9: What? questions (What is it? What do you see? What does he have?)
Level 10: Where? questions (Where is it?) adds prepositions
Level 11: Conjunctions: (circle and square; a circle and a square, red circle and blue square)
