Have your students show how they feel by selecting a mouth and eyes to build a custom emoji to hang in the classroom.
These templates can be used various times of the year.
Here are some suggestions:
- Back to School
- End of the Year
- After or Before Testing
Example of Use: I plan on doing this craft on the first day of school and hanging the emoji’s up on a clothes line in my classroom. I will start by reading the book, First Day Jitters and share my feelings about the first day of school. I will present my custom emoji to the kids and explain why I selected each piece. Then, I’ll send the students back to their desks and have them color, cut, and paste their emoji onto construction paper. Afterward, the students can practice writing their name onto the construction paper. To follow up, I will have any students who want to share their finished emoji’s share with the whole group!
