Anyone can teach this easy art lesson with our powerpoint lesson presentation and printables!
The powerpoint does the teaching for you, your substitute or volunteer. Students follow the step by step slides and learn about mood and color along the way.
The book My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss is the inspiration for this combination of poetry and art.
The first three slides are for your preparation and information. Then onto the lesson where a few slides introduce students to the tie between color, mood and art. Next is creating a collage representing two moods. Expressive facial features, color and shape create a moody collage.
Finally, mount the collage onto a mat paper. Students write an excerpt from My Many Colored Days or their own original poem around the face on the mat paper.
