This is an everyday resource for my class! Students use this "How To" guide to assist them in independently calming themselves down. This resource includes five steps for calming down: stop, breathe, think, plan, and re-think. Each step has a short open-ended description so you can easily apply your own class procedures and calm down tools/strategies.
I'm excited to share this resource because it is one that has worked wonders for me and my students. I have one student who really enjoys and benefits from written and visual plans, and she literally screamed when she saw think and requested that she have one printed out immediately. I hope this brings as much calm and joy to your classroom as it does mine.
