These little emotional guys are part of our everyday lives now - and our students love them! This quick drill is sure to motivate your kiddos!
This simple but fun game is designed for your short articulation or fluency sessions (5-10 minutes) although it can also be used for longer sessions, too. In fact, it can be used to make ANY skill drill fun!
Just set a timer and begin drill. After your student performs your skill drill to your liking (3 times, 5 times, etc) allow him/her to pick a card. If it’s an "I'm emotional" card he/she gets to keep it. If it’s one of the wild cards, follow the directions on the card. When the timer rings, the child with the most "I'm emotional" cards wins!
As an alternate way to play (that incorporates spontaneous connected speech), challenge students to describe the emoji they picked while using their best speech. For students who need to address social skills/pragmatics, have them describe the emotion on the card they pick. You may even want to have them tell what could have caused the guy on the card to feel that emotion!
* 25 colorful emotion cards and 5 wild cards
* a full list of emotion themed words (sorted by phoneme)
Just print, cut, & play (laminate for durability). No wasted paper
