This Emotional Regulation Lesson for Elementary Bundle will help students to recognize, identify and learn coping tools and strategies for their emotions. This set is a perfect if you are teaching classroom lessons that help students learn about emotions.

I have used the lessons in the following order:

  • Feelings Recognition BINGO--helps students learn about the different emotions and build vocabulary
  • Recognizing Emotions Lesson-- Helps students understand the different emotions and the signs and symptoms of each.
  • Emotion Identification Station--a 3 station activity to learn about emotions
  • Expected VS Unexpected Behaviors--a PowerPoint Presentation, activity and worksheets for students to learn the difference between expected and unexpected behaviors and how people may respond to each
  • Understanding Triggers--help students explore the situations that cause them emotional disregulation and begin to think about how big or small each situation moves them from a calm state.
  • Coping Skills Lesson--this can be broken down into 3 lessons: 1 to try different coping tools, another to create their coping toolbox and the last to fill their toolbox with the coping tools that would help them regulate when feeling different emotions.
  • What Size Is My Problem Lesson-- helps kids to understand that problems come in different sizes and so do emotions and reactions. Also helps to teach students appropriate responses to different size problems.

These lessons are a perfect companion for many emotional regulation curricula that are on the market.
