These little characters are a PNG with a transparent background, so they'll copy onto any piece of paper without printing the white. I can include a set that will copy with the bodies filled in if you prefer!
For one of my masters classes, I need to do an action research study. These pictures are paired with two questions:
1. How do you feel today?
2. How hard do you think [insert activity] was?
Before they marked their emotions, I had the students talk about what they saw in the pictures. First I asked which one felt the worst and which ones felt the best to make sure the scale was valid to them. Then I asked them to describe the emotions they saw. From left to right, they said: frustrated/angry, sad, happy, amazing.
For the second question, I decided to built the scale like this from left to right: hard, somewhat hard, not too hard, and not hard at all.
I'll be adding more of these little ones this summer! I'll update this file with the other clipart emotions as they come.
