Why teach the emotional registry?
Have you been having trouble with behaviors in your classroom? According to research, we are born with only six emotions. In order for children be able to have positive social interactions, educators need to give children the opportunity to learn and practice a more diverse range of emotions.

Included:
16 Emotion Mini-Posters
Each poster has a picture, a definition, synonyms, and a mentor sentence. This allows for great discussion on the nuances of each of the emotions. I recommend
teaching one emotion at a time.

21 Interactive Journal Pages
The first three pages are perfect for reflection. After using each of the posters, students can use these pages to tell about a time that they felt that emotion. These pages can be used again by having students discuss what they can do when they feel these emotions. The sixteen additional pages are also for reflection. Students define the emotion in their own words. Describe what their body feels like when they are experiencing that emotion. Give examples of when they feel the emotion.
Write what is the opposite of the emotion.

What Emotion am I?
After discussing each of the emotions in this resource, children will play this game with a partner. This game makes a great addition to your class meeting repertoire or a fabulous active brain break.

What Are You Feeling?
An optional bunting to add polish to your wall display. Print, cut, laminate, add ribbon, and hang.
