Happy! We all know the song, and we all know how it feels to be happy. Our youngest learners are good at expressing happy, but they need a little help expressing the other emotions they may be feeling. More importantly, they may need some assistance in figuring out how to get to their own happy place when other feelings are weighing in.
This resource is designed to get the discussion started in your classroom community and begin the work of achieving happiness. Each easy, print-and-go page identifies an emotion and invites the learner to show what it feels like, sounds like, and looks like through words and drawings.
The pages can be collected in a booklet or shared on a bulletin board. I hope you’ll enjoy using this “Getting to Happy” sample to get your year started on a happy note, or to celebrate all your students have learned throughout the year!
