Empathy Activity: This empathy classroom guidance lesson introduces students answer the question, "What is empathy?" and learn how to show empathy to others. Students hypothesize about the owner of a pair of worn out shoes (additional supply needed). Read students a narrative about the owner of the shoes (included) and discuss the meaning of empathy! Students create their own "shoe" to describe a day in their lives and share in small groups. This is perfect for a classroom guidance lesson or small group counseling session to promote empathy.
