This rubric was used after a unit on empathy. My grade 5 class had to create a comic strip demonstrating an ethical dilemma on empathy. My students worked in groups of 2-3 and had approximately 5 classes to complete this assignment. I decided to have my students draw out their comic strips by hand without giving them a template, as it allowed for their creative juices to flow. :) Students can also use different apps such as Comic Life, and PicCollage to design their comic strips in order to promote the use of technology in the classroom (there are so many cool possibilities!)
The criteria for my rubric is as follows:
Content - an ethical dilemma is apparent in their comic strip and concrete detail is used.
Graphics - the graphics are highly creative and a variety of colours are used.
Use of Time - Students used their time wisely and worked together as a team, delegating tasks.
