Using the book "My Friend is Sad" by Mo Willems, students will be introduced to the idea of empathy. After discussing different emotions as a class, students will work with partners. Partners will be made by matching emotion puzzle pieces. Students will then complete empathy posters to examine 12 different emotions and feelings to understand what empathy looks like using the Kagan Cooperative Learning Structure "Rally Table"!
