PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Help students use empirical formulas and percent composition to solve a crime!

Let's face it, percent composition and empirical formulas are not the most exciting concepts to teach in chemistry. They are very math intensive, and very conceptual in nature. However, this lab allows them to apply what they've learned about percent composition, empirical formulas and in a murder mystery! The calculations in this lab are based on those done by investigators who are examining trace evidence at a crime scene. Key and teacher notes are provided.

This is part of a series of lessons on Stoichiometry from No More Boring Science.
