This is a great Spanish 1 activity to get students out of their chairs and talking to each other. The objective is to get students moving around the room and practicing Interpersonal Speaking.
I typically copy the student document on both sides so one side can be used for students to do some pre-thinking. Student's can choose to write out questions in English or to think ahead and write out what they would say. Although the sheet could just be given the day of the activity and students could use it as a guide.
During the activity, I ask students to grab a clip board and pencil and aim to talk to everyone in the room (multiple times if it's a smaller class). I require that students speak in the target language, that they ask and answer in complete sentences and they write what classmates answer and note the name.
This activity centers around our unit about free time and what a student likes to do in his/her free time. There are a variety of verbs in present tense for students to hear and use in their responses.
