Teaching your Spanish students about market places and the beautiful and unique items you can find there? Stay in the target language and engage your students with this fun comprehensible input activity.
First, pick twenty items from your home and/or classroom to show one by one to your students. As you show them each item, describe for them what the item looks like, what it is made of, and a bit about why you like it. But don’t tell them where it is from, how it was made, or where you got it. That is what they must guess! As you can see from the preview file above, students must guess whether each item is from a Spanish-speaking country or not, handmade or machine made, and from a market or a regular store.
With your download, you will receive the student activity sheet as well as a few tips and suggestions on how to get optimal student engagement from this activity. You will also receive a BONUS ACTIVITY: a short and easy assignment that students can complete before or after trying to “spot the fake” to learn more about market places in the Spanish-speaking world.
Happy teaching :)
