Handout makes connections to the Parsley Masacre which can lead to another lesson. Parlsey Masacre was a genocide that occurred in the Dominican Republic. There are numerous documentaries on You Tube related to this masacre which teachers can share with students. I usually teach the Parsley Masacre and the Maya Genocide in Guatemala. I close my unit with a viewing of El Norte which starts off with two young Mayan teens escaping Guatemala and coming to the USA.
