These task cards are an easy way to review with students how to use encyclopedias, both print and online. I used a print edition of World Book to create these questions but you should be able to use these task cards with other print and online encyclopedias. Each task card has one question on it. Once the students have found the answer they can write it on the recording sheet.
These task cards can be used for whole class instruction, individual or small group practice, as a “Scoot” game, as a research center in the library media center or in a classroom, or as a Question of the Day/Week activity in the library media center or in a classroom.
