Everyone loves the book, “First Day Jitters” by Julie Danneberg, but did you know there was another book, “Last Day Blues”? This Escape Room plays off a few characters and events from the book “Last Day Blues” but it is NOT necessary to have read the book in order to play the game. Students will just enjoy the nod to characters and events from the story if they have listened to the book.
The game begins with only one hour left until the final bell rings signalling summer vacation. However, it is about that time that students realize that 4 important things have gone missing. It is up to the teams of students to solve the mystery of the 4 missing items before the last bell rings.
This is a digital escape room. Students only need an electronic device and the provided student page in order to participate. There are 4 puzzles: a pigpen cipher, jigsaw puzzle, word search, and math logic puzzle. When each puzzle is solved, students receive a number that will unlock the final puzzle where they will drag the missing items to the location in the school where the item was found. This escape room would be best for students 2nd through 5th grade, and takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
