Directions and ideas on how to use this great document
Let your students learn and remember the vocabulary in French related to summer:
• Page 1: Translate the word “Summer” in French
• Page 1: Find and circle all of the words that are hidden in the grid.
• Page 1: Two of the words are not spelled correctly. Highlight the 2 words.
• Page 2: Write a word or an adjective in French that relates to the words given.
You will find more than 30 French words related to the summer time.... and best of all, you can give this page as a quiz or use it as a review.
The 2nd page is also great to open up discussions, given them the time to practice their pronunciation skills, after given them the time to find an adjective or a word that relates to the summer words given.
During this immersion time, you can tell your students you are given them 10 points, which means they already have a full grade to start with but every time they speak or write using English or another language, they lose 1 point out of 10. I have used it so many times and find that learning increase much more when doing immersion, and the students just like. Note that immersion can also be done in the same way at any other times, and students usually enjoy that time.
