Description
Sing the song! Read the book! Make a "Down By the Bay" class book. Students make up a rhyme that wasn't used in the song to write their own verse for Down By the Bay. I suggest listing several animals and rhyming words on the board for students to choose from. My class reads (sings) this class book all year! On the last day of summer each year my class eats watermelon (makes super cute pictures), writes about it, and makes this class book.
