Get students engaged in these four projects and you will see how their comprehension and writing skills are progressing. Each student will pick their favorite story from the five stories in the unit; then they will complete four projects using that story as a base.
The stations can be completed in a rotation. I have included table tents and rotation cards to help in the organization and completion of the projects.
The projects are:
* make a paper plate mask of your favorite character and take notes for an oral presentation about that character
* write a letter to a character in the story you chose and tell them if they would or would not make a good friend; use details from the text to support your opinion
*complete a 9 segment sequencing story map
*complete a comprehension quiz
I have included a scoring guide for you to use as you assess the work of each child.
